«Ma démarche est issue du désir d’explorations d’espaces urbains et autrement occupés.  Par la substitution, la transposition ou la juxtaposition d’éléments constitutifs d’une ville à une autre, se constituent de nouveaux lieux apparentés. Ma pratique se matérialise sous diverses formes: performance, installation, vidéo, dessin, peinture et sculpture, photographie.»

Sylvie Laplante a fait ses études en arts à l’université Concordia, puis en théâtre à l’UQAM au Québec et en France.  Elle vit à Montréal.
